Sophie & Ryan’s Fiji Elopement – From the Skies of Canada to the Jungles of Savusavu

Some love stories begin in the most unexpected places. For Sophie and Ryan, it started at work—high above the clouds. Sophie is a stewardess and Ryan a pilot (now captain) in Canada, and together they’ve spent years flying across continents, discovering new cultures and landscapes along the way. Despite visiting many incredible destinations around the world, they had never been to Fiji.

When it came time to choose a place for their elopement, they wanted somewhere wild, romantic, and far from the ordinary. Their choice led them to the lush town of Savusavu, often called Fiji’s hidden paradise.

A Boutique Hideaway in the Jungle

For their stay, Sophie and Ryan chose the stunning boutique retreat Emaho Sekawa. Perched high above the ocean, the property overlooks an endless horizon of turquoise water framed by dense tropical forest.

The ceremony took place with the resort team softly singing in the background—a beautiful Fijian tradition that instantly fills the moment with warmth and emotion. As Sophie and Ryan exchanged their vows, the panoramic view of the ocean and jungle stretched before them. The forest surrounding the resort felt almost prehistoric—lush, dramatic, and cinematic. At times it truly looked like something out of Jurassic Park.

It was the perfect setting for two people who had spent their lives exploring the world.

Exploring Paradise for Their Couple Session

After the ceremony, we wandered through the grounds of the resort for their couple photo session. Hidden paths, tropical gardens, and sweeping viewpoints created endless beautiful backdrops.

But the adventure didn’t stop there.

Our next destination was the breathtaking Vuadomo Waterfall. Surrounded by towering jungle and cascading water, the atmosphere was peaceful and magical. The mist from the waterfall, the deep greens of the rainforest, and Sophie and Ryan’s joy made the moment feel almost dreamlike.

To finish the day, we headed to one of Savusavu’s wild black sand beaches. Layers of rolling hills stretched into the distance behind them while the dark volcanic sand met the ocean. The dramatic scenery gave their final photos a completely different mood—moody, powerful, and incredibly romantic.

A First Trip They’ll Never Forget

For Sophie and Ryan, this was their first time in Fiji—but it quickly became one of the most meaningful destinations in their travels. From singing during the ceremony to waterfalls and untouched beaches, their elopement captured everything that makes Fiji so special: beauty, warmth, and unforgettable moments.

Enjoy the viewing of this beautiful elopement story.
