Proposal off the beaten track in Fiji
Nic called me one week before his holiday with Ali in Fiji. It was a bit of a last minute photo session but worked beautifully!
He wanted to surprise her with a proposal but didn’t want anyone around. We talked about different locations and Heaven’s Peak, about one hour from Denarau made sense. They are both adventurous, like to go off the beaten track and the view from up there is absolutely breathtaking.
We went there at sunrise (fortunately with a 4WD because it’s a bumpy road towards the end!). A local was driving a bus around picking up many people to go to town and the cows enjoy the road for themselves! It felt like a truly local experience.
We walked halfway, where I filmed the proposal with the drone as I was taking photos, which Ali didn’t expect: watch here. She had a few tears and it was a very moving moment!
Finally we walked to the top, which is about a 15 minutes walk with high grass at parts. We were taking photos all along so it felt easy!
