Wedding at the Sheraton Denarau, Fiji

Lina and Joe are based in Australia but have Samoan and Fijian heritage. Fiji was just the perfect location for everyone to meet and enjoy the warm weather. They had many guests who came to celebrate their union and made it a sensational party after a very moving ceremony. These are Lina’s words:

Why did you choose the Sheraton? How was your experience with the resort?

Our daughter chose Fiji. We holidayed in Fiji the year before and she loved it so much she wanted to experience it with all our family and friends. Joe and I loved the Chapel at the Sheraton so it was an easy decision to make. The resort was very accommodating with everything, so welcoming and happy to help with anything and everything. They made our guests (that stayed at the resort) feel so welcome and loved. The kids enjoyed every single bit of it.

Any tips to give for future brides about getting married in Fiji?

Don’t stress over the small details. Sit back, relax and enjoy the whole day, everything will fall into place.

How did you enjoy the day?

It was perfect, better than I imagined, I had the most amazing day and night. I was very relaxed the morning of the wedding. I had my bridesmaids with me, getting hair and makeup done while we sipped champagne. Overall our experience with our wedding in Fiji was perfect. It was just what we needed and wanted, a short break away from all the everyday stresses and everything in general. My family and Joe’s family absolutely loved our time away and we all got to meet each others families. Watching both our families and friends interacting was a blessing.

The weather was definitely on our side on the day of our wedding. The day was just the right amount of heat and the night had a beautiful breeze. Everything was organised with Lavenia from Paradise Bride before we flew into Fiji a few days earlier so i didn’t have anything to worry about, i put all my trust in Lavenia and the team. The service we received from Paradise was more than i ever expected. They really went out of their way to make sure that everything went smoothly. My guests are still raving about the buffet dinner, the layout of the reception and the overall wedding.

Where did your flowers came from?

I made the bridesmaids flowers in Australia with artificial flowers. My flowers were from Paradise bride.

What about hair and make-up?

Totoka hair and Makeup by Lodo and the team.

Who were the entertainers? What do you think about them?

The entertainment was amazing, I would absolutely recommend them. They incorporated Samoan, Tongan and Hawaiian dances into their routine and our guests loved them being Samoan and having Tongan and Hawaiian guests we all got to enjoy it just that little more 🙂. The group’s name is Mauri Art & Entertainment Club.

Your dress? Your shoes? And Christian’s gown? The rings?

My dress was from Sweetheart Bridals – Madrid dress.

My shoes are from Billini.

Rings are from Michael Hill.

Joe had his shirt made by JO’LI Elei in Sydney. He wanted the Samoan ‘elei’ (patterns) added to his shirt.

How was your experience with the photographer 😉?

Anais was amazing, very professional and patient with the bridal party as well as the guests. We absolutely recommend her!

Enjoy the viewing.
