Wedding at Karekare Beach, Auckland, New Zealand
Juliane from Germany and Rafael from France, after 5 years of saving together, went for a one-year around-the-world trip. They decided to get married in the middle while in New Zealand. It was a gorgeous ceremony at Karekare beach (west Auckland) and I felt very privileged as a photographer (and witness!) to be part of their elopement.
Wedding at Auckland Viaduct Sofitel
Sirinya and Sam contacted about one year prior their wedding. We got to meet and talk about the details and their will for a special and sumptuous wedding album. The couple also wanted to get some urban wedding photography, which was perfect since the Sofitel (Auckland, Viaduct) is only a 5 minutes ride from the Silo park, where we could find all we needed for that matter. There was a few showers but it stopped just for our formal photo session and it was perfect because the usually busy area was all ours!
Elopement at Karekare Beach, Auckland
Aurelie and Olivier came all the way from France to get married in New Zealand. The couple are lovers of the great outdoors, they exchanged their vows at the wild Karekare Beach; (west Auckland, New Zealand) an incredibly raw landscape. Only Carla, the celebrant, and her assistant were there to witness the union between the two lovebirds.
Interview of Director and Wedding Specialist from South Pacific Weddings
Here is an interview with Carla, who has kindly agreed to answer a few question on how South Pacific Weddings work. The piece will certainly help you with your wedding. She is based in new Zealand and; is literally full of interesting facts and information for you, the couples; wanting to get married in Fiji.
Pre-wedding in Te Anau
Pansy and John came all the way from China to enjoy the Aotearoa summer and for an intimate pre wedding photo shoot. The two were playful, fun, partners in crime, in love… We went to different locations around Te Anau such as the Manapouri lake (maori for “lake of the sorrowing heart”), Te Anau Downs and some more secret valleys and rivers along the road to Milford Sounds.
A wedding without guests
Laure and Cyril travelled across the world to visit New Zealand and decided to get married during their trip. Only the celebrant and two witnesses attended the ceremony. And me of course, to capture this intimate and quite unique wedding.
Mission Estate Winery Wedding
Richard and Leteisha had a stunning wedding at the Mission Estate Winery in Napier, New Zealand. Their friends and family graced the event and we captured amazing moments throughout the whole day. I asked Leteisha what it takes to pull off a successful and stress-free wedding as the bride. Read the interview below to get tips on how to chose the right people to help plan your wedding, to make sure you stay calm and relaxed on your big day.
Honey Moon in Hunua Falls
Pauline and David got married in France and have chosen beautiful Aoteroa for their honeymoon. They have contacted me to create together a special series of images celebrating their love and showing a little bit of the incredible New Zealand landscape. We met at the Hunua Falls about one hour from Auckland city on their way to the Coromandel. Here is a few pix taken just a couple days after their arrival. Enjoy!
A personal and intimate wedding
It’s one of those weddings I could do in black and white: there is something original and modern about it. Melanie and Mark got married at the Officer’s Mess on the cliff top looking out to Rangitoto between Takapuna and Devonport. The ceremony was personal and very moving. We did the formals on the top of North Head, one of the many volcanoes in Auckland. Here we could enjoy a 360 degree view over Auckland and use the ageing bunkers as well as the long grass and flowers surrounding us. What a setting!
A home wedding in Titirangi
I most recently worked on a project that, as a photographer, I was really excited about – My very first homosexual wedding!! It was beautiful!! The setting for both the ceremony and reception for Barry and Michael’s wedding was the back of their flowery house in Titirangi (Auckland, NZ), right in the heart of the bush. There was lots of emotion and great energy amongst the guests, It was definitely a special ceremony to be a part of.
Muriwai engagement photography
It was on a beautiful sunset day, with no wind but the lovely couple of Rochelle and Anthony at Muriwai Beach (west Auckland). Their engagement session was a blast of love, colours and joy. Accompanied by the loyal and crazy black Skyla the photoshoot was even more fun. These two got engaged by the beach, its beauty and eternity.
Love story in Auckland countryside
If the love of your life proposed on-top of the Sky Tower, you would definitely say yes! Yes?? Well, Natalie said no, rather-not here. Natalie (nurse) and Ari (great basket ball player) love the country. And so, this lovely country photoshoot on a beautiful summer day, in the fields of Pukekokhe, was born. The lovers, who are best-friends and great accomplices, had fun together and made the session easy and fun.
Get ready for your Couple Photo session
Here is a few tips for you to get ready for your engagement or couple session and make the most of it. First of all it’s important to pick up the right location : one that is meaningful for you two. It can be a park, somewhere in the city : an area, a restaurant or by the beach, by a river… Once you have chosen I will tell you what is the best time for the location depending on the light.
Tips for your wedding photography
If you try too hard to hold their head in a certain position the chin can end up being too far up or down. I’ll let you know if that’s the case though. Sometimes there’s the subconscious reflex of miming the position of the photographer’s head, slightly sideways and tilted down, and it doesn’t look quite right!
