Elopement at Matangi Island resort, Fiji
It’s one of those “Wow!” Moments…
Matangi island is a garden of Eden, which of course suited Tracey and Mark, who came from Canada with a holiday in Australia on the way. They wanted an adventure and an intimate wedding. This boutique resort was simply ideal!
Matangi island resort accommodates up to 30 guests and offers a multitude of activities : snorkeling, hiking to the most amazing waterfalls… Taveuni (only 20 Minutes boat ride) has the unmissable Lavana falls and Tarova falls (where I had one of the best swims of my life!)
On the top of Matangi, which the locals have named Beverley hills, you can see a unique view of the horse shoe shaped island: a must see; once in a lifetime.
The staff put together a beautiful floral set up, they was very attentive to the bride and groom’s needs and made a sumptuous cocktail and romantic meal for the couple’s celebration.
As a photographer it was a delight to document the day. The scenery is so wild and pure it made me think I was in Jurassic park! The nature is lush, the sunsets dramatic and romantic with clouds and vivid colors, the sand is white, the water clear and the palm trees sway…
A few words from the bride and groom:
“We chose Matangi Island because it looked amazing online and we really liked that it was a private island so it made it the perfect place for an intimate wedding. The staff were absolutely wonderful at Matangi – they really made our wedding and the remaining time we were there so memorable and special.
Anais was awesome!! Very down to earth, so for a couple like Mark and I who don’t really enjoy posing for photos she made it a lot of fun and seamless. So thank you for that 🙂 “
They bought their rings from Mark Blyth, a jeweller in Albany Australia. The dress was purchased online on Esty. It was tailer made by a tailor in Ukraine and arrived in Australia just two days before their departure to Fiji!
