Chelsea and Matt's wedding at Plantation Island Resort on Malolo Island was everything a Fiji destination wedding should be—sunshine, stunning scenery, heartfelt moments, and a celebration surrounded by the people they love most.
From the moment the day began, the weather could not have been more perfect. A big Fiji sun shone over Malolo Island, creating the ideal backdrop for a day filled with laughter, happy tears, and unforgettable memories.
Family and Friends Gather in Paradise
Family and friends had travelled from overseas to celebrate with Chelsea and Matt, making the occasion even more special. There was a wonderful atmosphere throughout the day as loved ones gathered together on this beautiful island paradise to witness the couple say "I do."
Destination weddings have a unique way of bringing everyone together, and you could feel the excitement and joy shared by every guest who had made the journey to Fiji.
Chelsea says:
We chose Plantation Island resort because a friend of ours got married there a couple of years ago and raved about it. We did look into a few other resort options, but we found Plantation Island had the best deal for the number of people we wanted to invite. We absolutely loved Plantation Island, such a beautiful resort and location.
An Emotional First Look with Dad
One of the most emotional moments of the day happened before the ceremony. Chelsea shared a special first look with her dad, and it was impossible not to be moved by the emotion between them.
As he saw his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time, tears flowed freely and the love they share was evident for everyone to see. These are the moments that make wedding photography so meaningful and memorable.
Tears, Laughter, and Heartfelt Vows
The ceremony itself was filled with both tears and laughter. Heartfelt vows, emotional reactions, and plenty of joyful smiles created a perfect balance of sentiment and celebration.
It was clear how much Chelsea and Matt mean to each other and to everyone around them. From emotional moments to bursts of laughter, the ceremony reflected exactly who they are as a couple.
A Fun-Filled Bridal Party
After the ceremony, we headed out for bridal party photos, and what a fun group they were! With a large bridal party full of personality, there was never a dull moment.
From candid laughs to epic group photos against the tropical backdrop of Plantation Island Resort, photographing this crew was an absolute highlight of the day. Their energy made for some incredible images and plenty of memorable moments.
Celebrating Under the Fiji Sun
As the sun continued to shine over Malolo Island, the celebrations carried on with friends and family enjoying every moment together. The combination of beautiful weather, breathtaking scenery, and the people closest to Chelsea and Matt made for an unforgettable wedding day.
A tip from Chelsea:
Trust the wedding coordinators! They've done so many weddings that they have everything under control. Enjoy the day as it goes by so quickly, and try not to worry about the small things, everything will come together.

Chelsea’s bouquet was provided by Plantation Island Resort. The bridesmaids’ bouquets were from Temu, put together by one of the bridesmaids who is a part-time florist.

We absolutely loved our day! The weather was perfect. The scenery on Plantation Island is incredible. We felt so looked after by the resort and wedding coordinators. It felt so special to have all our friends and family in Fiji to celebrate us. I wish we could do it all over again. It seriously was a dream come true.
Chelsea says:
My experience with Anais was…. AMAZING! We couldn't recommend Anais more. She made us feel so at ease from the minute we met her. We loved how she knew all the best places for photos. She directed us, gave tips, and made the whole experience so easy. We are so happy with our wedding photos. I would use Anais again in a heartbeat!!
